Academy CH-46A/D kit questions

I haven’t built a helicopter in a long time and I’m thinking of building this particular kit. Shelf space is a problem, however. Does anyone know how wide the rotor blade assembly is (from one rotor tip to the other rotor tip)? I’m not sure I can safely display this model with the rotor blades deployed. A British firm (Scalewarships) sells a folded rotor aftermarket kit, but I can only find it in England and nowhere in the states. And, any ideas of where to buy aftermarket machine guns for this model of helicopter? Kit reviews state that the kit guns aren’t very good. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.!

The actual rotor diameter is 51 feet. In 1/48 scale, that is a little more than 12 inches.

I would wait and get the kit before deciding on what you want to do about the MG’s. The internet can be full of that kind of, well, thing. They may suit you just fine.

Thanks for the suggestions. It never occurred to me to do the math and shrink 1:1 down to 1:48th! Thanks again.

I ordered the Rotor folding kit from Scale Warships and it’s very well made. I only wish they did the same thing for the 1/48 -CH47 Chinook.
