Well here itis, out of the box, I still need to add the pitot at the nose but other then that it’s done. I started on this about 8PM Saturday night and finished it up about 8PM tonight. I might add Sunday I went out for several hours and di some RC car running, went grocery shopping, went out to dinner and played some computer games. I’d say about 8-12 hours overall in this. Not show quality by ANY means, but it’s a nicelooking shelf model, which is what I built it for.
I can’t even get the parts out of the box in that amount of time…nice job!! One question, are the panel lines penciled in? If so, what size lead?

I just used. .05 mechanical pencil in recessed kit lines. I did sharpen to a point many times however.
Looks really nice to me. I can’t imagine a two-day build. Kudos for the good work.
That’s why I like these smaller Academy kits. At least some of them anyway. This one and the F-16CJ fit together so nicely, it reduced ALOT of work. The worst part is adding the fuselage details, and painting up the dang weapons. It’s just working efficiently sometimes. Carefully strategize stuff.
I buy the kit halfway through the day, paint the cockpit parts,a nd get the fuse halves together and let them dry overnight. I also glue the wing halves together for the same reason.
Next day I do all my sanding of seams, add all the parts to the fuse that need to be added. MAsk the canopy, and head to the paint booth(which is just my bathroom). I use frog tape low adhesion tape for masking and I only have to wait for the paint to dry, not to completely cure. By the time all the paint coats on the main are drying the first coat on all the weapons and stuff has dried so I turn to them and start the detail painting. By the time I’m done I unmask the airframe, and start decals, once those are done the weapons and gear are dry and I add them, and it’s done.
Nice one there. I couldn’t build a snap-tite kit in 48 hours lol. I am going to try for the Weekend Madness GB though. Looks like you got some good practice in.

This particular set was horrid. Impervious to sovaset and barely reacted with microsol. Thick brittle and tear easily. This jet almost flew through a wall for the trouble. This is also the reason for missing stencils. No opacity either. Ggggrrrr
