Academy 1/72 P-51D "Down For Double" Completion Pics

Here are my final shots of “Down For Double”, kit went together easily so any flaws are surely my doing. Definatly not as good as I had hoped for but I learned a lot with it. Appreciate everybodys help throughout the build. Comments and criticisms hoped for.

On a semi related note, I am celebrating 4 months sober this week and modeling has definatly been a big factor in my recovery, so thank you to everybody for your help over the last couple of months, the words of wisdom and little bits of advice that are redily available whenever I catch a snag help streamline the process and make building even more enjoyable. So once again thanks to everyone in the community that make it such a great place to be

Great looking P-51 Chris [tup][tup][tup], the NMF really turned out great.

My only feedback would be on the photos themselves, it’s such a nice looking build I would have like to see some more close ups.

Cheers

Here are a few more my brother took, they seem to be taken a little bit closer

Hey!
Congrats!! 4 months is a great result, man - you sould be proud of your accomplishment. Well done, and stay focused.
Your little P-51 aint all that bad - not all that bad for a hand painted model. Silver is always the hardest to brush paint.
Do you have an airbrush? You’d probably amaze yourself with what you could do with an inexpensive setup…have a look around - maybe ebay, or Hobby Lobby…
Congrats, again, mate!

Good jobs… on both fronts.

keep up the good work… on BOTH fronts

Your fellow modelers are here for you… ON BOTH FRONTS.

Congratulations on both projects. Keep up the good work !

Regards, Rick

Congratulations on both a nice build and four months sobriety. Keep up the good work at both!

Mark

my birthday is coming up in the beginning of may, I asked my mom for an airbrush and compressor. I went on to amazon and found a pretty good deal on both, lets now hope she decideds to get it for me. Thank you for all your support everyone

Way to go, TLP! Twice!

TLP,

Congrats on both accomplishments!!

I haven’t done a NMF plane (yet) and yours turned out nice. I was thinking on your next project (if you don’t have an airbrush by then) that if you do the brush strokes to follow the airflow over the plane it may look more natural. Just a thought don’t know if it would work.[C):-)]
