Academy 1/48 scale P-38 Blah

Well I thought that Academy made pretty good AFV’s

They do but their aircraft Suck.

I am trying to build the P-38 and the keys to parts are total crap in my book.

Instructions also lack a bunch.

Putting in one wheel tub after trying to get it to key in well I glued both sides together to nail it and the thing has a warp to it.

The wheel well door does not seem to fit correctly also.

So are these the problems with it or are they all the same?

Tamiya from now on or Hasegawa

Rant over.

You really have do read the reviews before you buy an Academy kit. They have some real nice kits and then they have some real terds. I do not have there p-38 but I when I purchased thier 1/48 F-16 and tried to assemble it I was left with the feeling that I was robbed of my 20 bucks. The wings just were never going to fit. A total piece of junk. I have some of there Me 109’s kits and they are very nice. They really have no standards lever of quality in thier 1/48 scale airplane line. I learned the hard way before buying and Acadamy read the review. It would have saved me 20 bucks in my case.

Yep, I don’t know about the 1/48 line personally but the 1/72 kits are the same. Their older kits are not so good but most of their newer kits are very nice and I almost prefer them to Tamigawa kits. You have to read the reviews to know which is which.

So who does Good Aircraft Reviews?

Thanks
