Hi All,

I just finished up a review article of the “new” Academy release for IPMS/USA, and I also posted it on my website, Scalewarbirds (http://www.scalewarbirds.com). Here’s a few pictures:

Looks good. Is it a “new” kit or a re-issue ?

Hi RJK…

It’s a re-issue of their 1/48 F-16 kit with new decals. The decals are nice, and seem better to work with than what Academy usually offers.

the only downers of this kit is the cockpit, and the way the lower fuselage & wing is the same part, if Academy spent more time on the subject it would have been a really nice piece to compete with the Hasegawa’s and at about half the cost, but you need to get some AM sets to cover the 2 areas that set the kit behind it competitors (Hasegawa & Italeri), don’t get me wrong I like the kit and I used an Eduards PE set to Catch it up to the Hasegawa’s but after I all the fund’s I spent on it, it was about the same cost of going with the Hasegawa’s, let’s hope the 1/32 scaled version is far superior then it’s 1/48 cousin
