The Academy 1/35 Sheridan (Vietnam version) hit the shelves this weekend here in Japan, selling for about $23 USD.
I had a good rummage through the box, and it looks like a fine kit to me. Apparently there are some accuracy issues, but again, it looked good to me! Great moldings. The belt-style tracks are well molded, but would need to be pinned or replaced to get that trademark Sheridan sag.
Just a heads-up for you Sheridan fans! It has indeed been released, and should be coming your way soon! (If it hasn’t already)
I knew if I built my old out of production Tamiya Sheridan, It would get Academy off the pot, and release their version.LOL. Now where’s my M42 Duster I’ve waited so patiently for? Semper Fi, mike
Unfourtunately, I may have troubles. I have spent, over the last two days, about $150 US on E-Bay getting kits, including a Duster. Maybe I can sneak one somehow…
I see I am not the only one to go overboard in the last few days. I went to a hobby show and went nuts- bought a Tamiya Sherman, a Dragon M4A3E8 Korean War Sherman, an Academy M-10 Duckbill and a Dragon Panther, along with some Cavalier zimm and some other assorted AM stuff.
Thanks for the information, Brian. I am very happy to see modern armor being released. Hopefully Academy will release a Desert Storm version of the Sheridan as well. Now, bring on the Tamiya LeClerc!
Model shows are addictive. I spent way too much money a couple of weeks ago at the IPMS Indy show. I’ll probably do even more damage to my wallet in a couple of months at the Regional show in Louisville. I’m running out of space to store everything!
I wonder if I leave this page open, the “Empress” would realize my hobby is under-funded? I’ve been living on scraps for awhile now! It’s time for some serious spending. Thank “God” we don’t have much to offer in the way of model expos, or shows here in San Diego, or I’d be a homeless model builder. Semper Fi, mike
