Hi ive been working on the Academy puma. I know it isnt the best puma out there but ive enjoyed it so far. However the interior is not very well molded, the flooring not sitting in the hull very well. dont know if Im just making a mistake but the gearstick is touching the steering wheel in a strange way. Has anyone else made this kit?
The original Italeri Puma kit has been re-boxed several times, including the Academy version you are building. What sprues have been added or modified over the years, I don’t know, although I have built the original. The rather spartan interior should be viewed with a grain of salt, to say the least. Since there are no remaining Pumas to be examined, we must rely on what few (and rare) photos of Puma interiors still exist, here is one of the forward-facing driver’s position;
You can see the gear shift knob just to the right of the seat.
I have been working on the old Testors/Italeri Puma for a while scratching out the interior. The interior should be similar to the 8 Rad Sdkfz 234 family except for the turret interior. For its age it’s a very well detailed model with good exterior detail. I also have the 324/3 in the stash.
Only 101 were built and unfortunately the only surviving Puma was taken to England for evaluation and then used for target practice shortly after the war!

Hello again. Annoyingly my puma wasn’t treated very well in the mail and a few pieces were loose . I have managed to lose some. Aber makes photo etch smoke dischargers so I can replace them. However does anyone know of a Jerry can set with the straps and buckles because I don’t know of any.

Svenne Duva; Sorry, I shuffled my photos around and forgot to put it back up. Should be good now.
As for the Jerry Cans, I just used some old ones out of the spares box, made some straps out of lead foil and just happened to have some leftover PE buckles, which could also be made from lead foil or bent wire.
Yeah I think that I will have to do that. Good practice [:)]
