I built this kit for the “Keepers of the Peace” Group Build. It is Academy’s 1/35 K-200 KIFV as used by the Malay Army contigent of UNPROFOR in Bosnia. I built it OOB aside from adding some stowage on the interior, hollowing out parts where appropriate, and swapping out the kit indy tracks for some rubber band Tamiya tracks off of a 113 family vehicle as a time saving measure. While building and researching this project I found where some improvements and accurizing could be done to this kit. But really it is a fun and fairly simple kit with LOTS of potential.

Thank you guys! Jack I thought the same thing- the white has a completely different look than the typical scruffy look of a field white wash for snow camo. Sprue, the weathering was quite simple for this build. I used those new Testors pre mixed wash colors, an enamel gray in this case. Those thingns are great. Then for the weathering road dust I airbrushed on a very thin coat of Humbrol Hemp, an RAF aircraft color. Light overall, and more concentrated on the suspension area. It had the light grayish tan look that I remember from that part of the world.
I think that with a white colored vehicle like this, finding a good balance with washes and weathering would be difficult, to me anyways. I think you achieve this right on the mark.
Jean Michel it was quite a challenge to get the wahses and weathering right on this project. Probably one of my biggest challenges yet. Those new Testors wash products were a huge help.
Sprue I used another shade of that stuff- “Natural” I think that it was called- on the vinyl tracks. A quick dose of that stuff, then select bright and dull steel on the wear areas and Floquil weathered black on the track pads and the tracks came out just like I wanted.
She looks great SP! Nice work on the camo or lack of it- gawd I hate painting white. I like the dirt, seems like it would be very easy to overwhelm the white paint with too much dirt - you got it perfect.
Look out for the “blue helmets”! Very nice piece. Stik are the smoke grenade tubes supposed to be at different elevations? This is an honest question, not a criticism. Bob
Stik I’m glad a lot of that interior showed, good choice keeping the ramp and hatches open. Love the dusting, great detail, so it took a while but thats a really nice build. Well done Stik.
