This is the 1/25 Jagpanther of Academy. This kit practically fell together out of the box, so I decided to add a hand painted balkenkreuz to the rear right stowage bin, and some chains. I think I did great on the camo. I know this vehicle is inaccurate and the headlight is missing(losing the headlight is like a curse for me, I’ve lost at least one headlight on every model I’ve built so far!!![:(!])
Comments and criticisms always welcome and I hope you like it!
Always like Jagdpanthers and yours is quite nice. You did a good job on the camo. The chains are a nice touch. Since you acknowleged a few inaccuracies, I’m not sure how what to critique. The things that stand out the most are the inner roadwheels which don’t have the rubber painted on (this is why I paint wheels seperately) and the outside rims should be steel from the friction. Also there is no sag with the tracks. The antennae is too thick. All and all a nice buildup. Keep em coming.
Not a bad build, but the balkankreuzen definitely look off. Might wanna touch those up. Camo scheme looks a bit too soft at the edges, but other than that looks good. I lilke the chains.
Hey, I think your tank looks just fine. You might want to fill in what appears to be a “see thru area” in the rear grills. I checked your “profile” and you are doing great for a junior. I love those chains also! Keep it up and remember when all the details are done well and come together, you’ll really have something to be proud of…
very nice build![:D]-- i would also like to comment on the inner road wheels which (i’m sure i might get corrected on this) but aren’t the inner and outer wheels the same?-- just reversed?-- so rubber should show[:P]-- very nice!![8D]-- treadwell
Nice jagdpanther TTMan. Yep you did a nice job on the camo. Looks very authentic. Like the others said you need to do something about them inner roadwheels. They don’t look right like that. Working suspension is cool.
I think you’ve done a good job. I agree with the others about the inner roadwheels and the grilles needing work. Would also add that you’re roadwheels look too clean considering the amount of dirt you show on the front and back of the vehicle. Tracks also too clean and the contact points with the ground could use some highlighting. Inside of the muzzle brake could be darkened as well. the chainlooks to be hanging too low and is too clean. Drive sprocket teeth might need a touch of highlighting as well.
Like the roadwheel suspended from the cable and the wear on the numbers. Tools look nice and overall paint job is good. I didn’t notice the missing headlight, just saw some battle damage [;)][;)].
I think you’ve done a fine job and I’d give you [tup][tup]
Very nice work overall! The camo and dustiness are very realistic.
As many have already mentioned, all the roadwheels had rubber tires, so those inner wheels need to be painted, too.
In the top pic something a little strange seems to be going on with the front of the muzzle brake:
It looks like the round piece that goes on the end is either on backwards or perhaps pushed in too far. I can’t really tell from the pic, but something’s not quite right. You might want to check it out.
Well I have no critique to add so I will just say it looks pretty nice. I can’t help but think this would look fantastic with a set of fruils, too bad they don’t make a set for it!
I like your finish but have to go with the others on the inside roadwheels, the muzzle looks well off, but don’t let me put down what looks a great model with some really nice touches. I always considered the Jagd to be one of the best looking vehicles of WW2.
Great looking build. Most of the issues have been mentioned, the missing rubber on the inner-roadwheels being the most notable. You may want to really fix that, as it really stands out. As for the track sag, you don’t neccessarily have to CA glue them down. You can use sewing thread to tie the upper track to the wheels, or even use pins from the inside of the hull (kinda difficult to do now) to hold the track down. Kinda impossible to do now, but for future reference, there are always alternatives.
I’ve always wanted to build a large-scale armor kit. When I saw this kit in a shop I opened the box and looked for the MG-34/42 AA gun. This is the way I determine a kit’s quality. When I saw the Academy kit’s gun wasn’t too detailed I skipped it.
