ABRAMS Track ?

Hello everyone,
I will be building a Tamiya M1A1 soon once I rotate home from Iraq. I’m curious if anyone knows of any tracks that are available to replace the pair that came with the kit.
Thanks,
MSG D

Welcome to the boards. AFV Club has the T-158 type in workable form. You just put each link together and it connects like the real thing. Squadrons has them instock. They may not be the cheapest, but at least you get a look at them

nice! i think i’ll get these to avoid putting together those italeri PITA tracks. at least the tamiya M1A1 i have has the flexible tracks, no assembly required, i’ll gives them credit for that. seems tamiya and italeri have gone to extremes with their tracks, one side is KISS (keep it simple, stupid) but not exactly “accurate” and the other is KISS (keep it stupid simple) and requires more work than should be required. (gluing together tracks just doesnt sound like a situation that will pan out with good results from my fat sausage like fingers)

The Dragon, Trumpeter, and Italeri individual tracks are not that hard to build and look pretty good when done. I prefer them over rubber band tracks. The latest Tamiya M1A2 OIF version comes with rubberband tracks that look pretty good though. It sounds like you have the older Tamiya M1A1 with earlier style slanted block track. They are not incorrect for an ODS and earlier M1A1.

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for the work you’re doing. We wish you a safe and speedy return when you get to rotate back. God’s speed.

Gentleman, thank you for the Advice. The AFV club tracks seem to be what I’m looking for. One advantage to being over here is my stock of reference photos has grown enormously.
Thannks again,
MSG D
