Abrams aftermarket tracks?

CXan anyone tell me if vinyl tracks exist that will fit the Dragon 1:35 83 Bagdad Abriams? I have had it with these individual tracks. I have sepnt my last evening putting these things, or attempting to getting them to curve and fit. Give e the old standby vinyl, they look fine. Anybody know if they are made?

I don’t know if they are vinyl, I think AFV Club makes a set of aftermarket tracks for the Abrams.

No aftermarket vinyl track out there. The AFV club are individual link plastic tracks as well. Someone might have a set left over from one they swapped the track out on. If not…

The idividual link aren’t really that hard, its just how you put them together. I don’t do it how the directions show. First, I don’t build the top run, it will be covered up by the skjirts anyways. I start by putting together all the long pieces first to make the bottom run. It should be the length that it just goes teh disatnce to fit under the road wheels. Then I make the angled front and rear sections. To do this, i put together the shorter pieces (3, 4, 5 links) to make up the distamnce from the 1st and last road wheel to the front idkler wheel and rear sprocket. I attach these to the bottom run at the correct angle and let them dry. Next I get a raod wheel and put 4 track blocks together in a half circle around the road wheel, I do the same with one of the sprockets. Don’t glue them to the road wheel and sprocket, just use it as a guide while they dry in the semi-circle shape. Once these small sections are dry, attach them to the free ends of the short andgled pieces. You mow have a run og track that will cover all areas that show once the side skirts are on. To attach them to the model, I do this last, after the model is painted and weathered. I completely paint and weather the track, then slip the track on starting on the rear sprocket first. Slide forward and slip the front over the front idler wheel and superglue in place . That is it. Hope that makes sense. Give it a try, it really isn’t that hard to get it to look right.

Hope that helps.

Good stuff Arty. Best way to do it.
