i just bought a set of metal tracks by fruilmodel for a academy tiger 1 mid production with interior.they cost me 24 dollars but i havent gotten them yet are good tracks let me know if you can.and shermanfreak i know you will know but dont tell me when i put them on i have to sssttttrrrreeeaaccchhh them to get them on lol thanks tom

I have to warn you …If you start using metal tracks on your kit …you will never want to build another kit without them…These Fruil sets are amazing they sag like the real thing …They give weight to your kit …They are easy to build(takes time but easier than non workable plastic ones)…Easy to paint off the kit and added later .
I think I like these sets …and so will you …

Those tracks are fantastic!!! You’ve just discovered a way to spend even more money on your kit…first the tracks…second aluminum gun barrels…third photo etch and finally resin after market details. LOL
Bad news of course is that you can’t ssssttttrrrreeeettttccchhhhh Fruil tracks…but it’s ok cause you don’t want to.
In all honesty…you’ll love them.

Are these tracks already “threaded” or do they have to
be assembled. Are they metal or “white” metal?

I think they are “white metal” since it does not take a lot of pressure to bend them, think soft lead. They are not threaded but you do use the “pin” method like a real german tank. They are pretty easy to work with but it takes about three hours a side to clean them up and pin them together. Very satifying results. By clean then up i mean to make sure the holes are cleaned out with a pin vise. The tracks them selfs are otherwise perfect.

Hmmm…I was actually considering using Friulmodel metal tracks for my last armor project, but the price made me shy away from them…after reading all these messages, I think I’ll give them a try after all…never been too fond of the results I get with the plastic tracks.
