Today, well, never mind. To make a long story short, after a long and convoluted series of events, my F-4 phantom now resides in 4 pieces, which I need hardly add is 3 more than it should reside in. I think I should be able to fix it thouhg. It was the drop tanks and a tailfin that came off. Ahhhhhhhh, the pain, the agony…
Sorry to hear that Tanky. Hope the repair goes painlessly.
Regards, Rick
I’ve had butterfingers that have done that before, hope it wasn’t the case for you! Sorry to hear that and good luck patching it up![:)]
So just one question…were the pilots able eject safely?[:D]
Sorry tankmaster7…couldn’t resist, hope the rebuild goes smoothly.
We’ve all been there. Hope you can get things together again.
We all know how it feels, we’ve all been there. I’m sure the rebuild will go well.
If I had a dime for every time I’ve screwed up… I’d have about 3 bucks[;)].
tank,
remember, its just a model and unfortunately for us is doen’t really fly.
Either that or he got painted by a SAM site, dropped the tanks and scooped it in order
to evade the threat…the intense strain on the flight controls could have caused the
damage to the tail section…
Better have it investigated…A court marshall may be in order…
It would appear to be an obvious terrorist action. Call the Department of Homeland Security.

Humph. It was one of those dratted Soviet SA-6’s. One drop tank to go, then it will be back on its landing gear, and hopefully nothing will fall off.
Who is responsible for the devastation ?What sort of retribution must be meted out to restore the scalesof justice?
Here’s one for you…Did you ever melt your kit under photo lights? Yep… I did . Try fixin that!!!
dragonfly
Yep, welcome to my world.[banghead][banghead][banghead][banghead][banghead]
Don’t worry Tanky, I had just finished my Academy 1/35 Blackhawk. Then on it’s first ‘mission’ out it lost 3 of it’s 4 main rotors, several antennas and both external fuel tanks. I still have to attach most of them again, but this time I’m strengthening everything with internal metal bracing.
Hope the rebuilt goes painlessly and the cause of such devastation is found and punished accordingly.
Cheers,
John
What happened?
Mate, you have to share the story…we’ll all commiserate with you…
Ouch… I feel your pain. Hope the reattachment surgery goes well!
My favourite model was a 1/72 Ka-50 Hokum. I said was because one day it appeared on the floor with some parts broken and/or missing. I never knew who did it and the fact that pieces were missing made the repair futile. After some cursing I decided it was a good pretext to break my “not going to buy anymore kits until I build some” promise and I just got myself a 1/72 Ka-52 [8D]
Well OK, abridged version of events. My mom took it to show to someone, and it returned looking like a NVAF ace got to it. It’s OK though, she let me buy another model kit to make up for it. Oh, BTW the last drop tank is being reattached as we speak.
once, my friend threw the box containing my M1A1 with mine plough in to a wall. NO JOKE!
when I asked him why he did it, he just said “jeeeeez I was just trying to be funny! gosh! you gotta cut some slack in your stress level!”
whoa… is he OK?
the mine plough got ripped off along with the paintjob, and multiple blades are broken, along with the ski thingies, and my main barrel broke.
I think he should go to the insanity asylem or something.
sorry tanky, I KNOW how you feel.
Dont sweat it. After dropping a Dornier night figter (revell-monogram), i ripped its wings of and smashed it to bits. Damn shame, though. Sorry to hear that. Don’t pull my move, its not worth it.
