A19-87 Mk IV Beaufighter - [in the making]

G’day Folk’s,

This 48 Beaufighter Mk VIc kit is intending to be converted and modified into the Mk IVf version of a British supplied RAAF 30 Sqn bird, from the base kit along with my resin comversion set for this version, I am basing my model on a wartime print of this aircraft as in service through the New Guinea region.
The modified assembly of the cocpit floor tub, is shown prior to paint being applied, showing what I’ve added and what kit parts I’ve modified of the internal, assembly, the cockpit tub has not as yet been cut from the floor, nor have the resin seats been fitted, also the cabin heater inlet ducts have been drilled off and replaced with brass and metal tubing, also the entry hatch wells, sub frames have been drilled out.

This is one of the Wartime pix of the RAAF Mk IVf

Modification and additions to the floor plate

Drilled out entry wells cross ribs [rear section only done]

Foile used as a filler of the horid fuselage gaps in the lower wing section

Brass and metal tube inlet ducts

Finished floor plate prior to cockpit tub being cut and raised

Dry fit of floor plate to fuselage half

The Vicker K gun mount will be removed from the rear fuselage section prior to fuselage construction.

Looks like another nice build Rob. Keep us posted.

Regards, Rick
