I am working on the Tamiya 1:48 and bought the Squadron walk around book to read last night. This plane seems to be the real deal, the horse, the “Man”. Doesn’t seem to get much press on this board, however. Is it becasue of when it was released? It seems to have gotten great airtime in Korea and Vietnam. Have I missed something? Frankly, until I was bulled over by the armament, I never would have considered building it. Plus, it is a Tamiya kit which means it will go together like a charm.
Well, you missed the name for one thing. It’s a Skyraider. I posted some pics of a build a couple of weeks ago. Guess you missed it. Mike V has also been posting progress reports on his build of the Monogram kit, so I’d say the Skyraider is getting a fair amount of press.
Either one you build (Air Force or Navy versions) are a great addition to your collection. If I had more room on my shelf i would definately do some different schemes of the great “sandy”.
