A worst kit build?

I am back from my little run this week and have seen ya’ll coments on the worst kits made.So in the spirit of the bad kits and before I post this on a group build,I need ya"ll to tell me want out of the top three bad makers is the kits you consider to be the worst.Out of this kits will come the GB project to be done.So name me three kits from each of these manufactures that you feel to be the worst that they put out. This kits should be kits that you can still get today.
So here are the three companys we are going with:Lindberg,AMT and Hobbycraft. When I come back I will post this GB,Digger

Heading to the LHS today, will see what they have

now, this is a groupbuild.

I’ll be interested in seeing how this one works out. Give me your tired, your weak and your bad fitting.

Best GB idea I have seen in a while.

Found a Hobbycraft Caribou, Beaver, P-59 on hte a/c side and a Feeyadeen Technical on the armor side that look interesting only AMT kits were cars that didn’t interest me and no Lindberg kits except the old LCVP kit

The new Dragon Tiger I initial production 3 in 1 is the worst kit ever. Oh and the Trumpeter Wildcats are terrible. They both should be on the list

No, No just kidding. I don’t really have any input now. Like Grandadjohn, I’ll go to the LHS and report back.

Zvezda T-60 WW2 Soviet light tank.

If I was “forced” to do an AMT kit…other than their M1/M1A1 Abrams and T-72/74 tanks, their armor (re-boxed Esci kits) are pretty darn good for their day. Got an AMT M60A1 Blazer kit that is still the best M60 series model kit available today.

It’s too bad Testors isn’t on that list. Their 1/72 SBD Dauntless was one bit pile of $#^$^@&!. You know how you get those bad kits that can kind of be polished into something acceptable? Don’t even try it with this one. NO interior, NO wheel bay detail, NO wheel bays at all, panel lines don’t line up, parts don’t line up, no detail on any of them, and more or less absolutely NO way to fix it!

Okay, my rant’s finished. It’s an interesting idea, though. It’s cool to see what talented people can do given a bad situation.

Well I will give this ideal another 4-6 weeks before posting or canning it.I think it is a good ideal for all of us to do,just to test are skills as model builders.I am hoping that more people will take an intrest in this, for I think that some of our best work will come out of this.Digger

Give it some credit. It is an old Hawk kit from the 1950s. You’re looking at a kit designed about a half century ago. These were sold in the 5 and dime for pocket change originally. The original issue included US Army A-24 dive bomber markings as well as US Navy SBD markings.

I have posted this as worst manufactuteres group build in the group build forum so any who are intrested please sign up.It should be interesting to see what we can do and come up with.Digger

About that Testors SBD, it’s a good first glue-together kit for kids, the parts are thick and hold together well, so it can take a lot of punishment. Actually, that kit pretty much got me into the hobby.

I figure the worst kit I’ve run across recently is the Revell Gannet, no wheel wells whatsoever, no cockpit, just heads poking out, lots of flash, EEGGGHHHHHHH

I have a kit byt AMT and one By lindberg, wow, I actually have choices for this build! (thats not good!)

I try to see the good in many companies. AMT had a lot of good aircraft kits. Their 1/48 scale P-40, Tigercat, and A-20 kits were top notch. Even their armor kits were well regarded with the exception of the M1/M1A1 and T-72/T-74.

Think it’s a good idea will keep watching
