My fiance and I were watching a Discovery channel show on Parallel Universes last night. She said to me what would I do instead if all the models in the world disappeared overnight???
NO,NO,NO, I needed to lie down for twenty minutes after just thinking about it. The world would be a grey and lonely place.[:0]

Are you sure that you and your fiance were talking about the same thing?
You’ld just find something else to spend your money on…or maybe take up ophthamology, dentistry, or watch repair as a hobby (hey, you have to use those tools for something!)

I’d say a lot of us would search high and low for toys of our favorite subjects and “cutomize” them to make them more accurate[:D][:p].
Wonder how they’d have dealt with such things as combat flight training ( where they use models to help pilots visualize maneuvers and recognize foreign planes ) and tactical maps in that alternate universe?
don’t know what i would do but i would certainly be somewhat richer LoL. there must be about 300 kits in my loft alone not to mention those that are in cupboards around the house, at a modest avarage of £8 per kit that works out at …err…[:0] ho my god i have to lie down…

My computer would get used an awful lot more, and this forum would kinda become a mute point. I don’t know if I could handle spending time with family…

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…[xx(][xx(][xx(]
Do not even think of these horrors!

Cha-ching! I would be the ruler of the universe after starting the only model company in existence! One innovative product after another would roll out of my company and all the firsts in the industry would be mine…mine…mine…all MINE! Hey sounds like an opportunity. I would never let a little thing like no kits keep me from modeling[;)]
If there were no models left in the world, I would join the SCA and learn how to make chainmail and plate armor.

Might have time to do some of those things that I USED to do before the wife and I got married. [;)]

Woody’s keeper left the door unlocked again[:D][:D][:D]
If I woke up and found a model-less world:
- I’d go out and get the SOB responsible
- I’d resurrect my secret stash buried in the really BIG jar in the backyard
- I’d wake up from the B-movie nightmare I was having, shake off the angst, and go build something! [:D][:D][:D][8D]
A world without models??[:0]
Didn’t you see the thread about not using foul language on this site??[xx(]
Jim,
I realise I don’t know your fiance, and I might not really be able to make this value judgement, but I think she needs treatment.
Just call the boys in the rubber truck to take her to the “happy place” so she can get a little “rest”. Then you can start scratchbuilding that 1/24 scale B-52 that you always wanted to build…better buy a biger house…
Cheers,
LeeTree
Well, there is always the pocket knife and some scrap of wood. I would be forced to scratchbuild my own.
No Models? Why, if there were no models, I’d have to bust the Union down! A SOUTHERN government would make model kits, you bet!
LeeTree,
what’s this 1/24 scale nonsense? Everyone knows that 1/1 scale is the way to go with Strategic Bombers!!
she was just talking hypothetically, but with a glint in her eye. Thinking of all that cupboard space she would have back. Silly girl…how many clothes does a girl need anyway???
If I were promised them in Heaven then maybe…just maybe I could wait 70-80 years but it would not be a fun wait. I think out insane asylums would be more crowded. I don’t know about the rest of you but what do you think has kept ME outside the wall for all these years. My office would be a boring place, too.
I would have to start collecting the real thing…mmm a b-52 in my yard…yammie.
I’d scratchbuild.
