Well, they’re pretty much the only company that produces model tools and paints, so kudos to them! Also, they’re the only company I know of that has the AC-130 in 1/144 scale, so, I’ve gotta disagree.
But, then again, I’m one of those weirdoes that actually LIKES testors putty, so maybe I’m a bit weird…
Their paints are good. I like their body putty and their liquid cement. They also produced the only, at the time, Griffin enginen Spitfire in 1/72,no U/C but it was the only game in town.

Michael,
The later Revell (Germany) stuff is at least better than any of the japanese offerings ,if not better.
I have the HE177 and have seen the F86D Sabredog and they are brilliant.
I may yet get a BV222 Viking after the review in SAM.
What lets them down are the re-issues of the monogram junk.
The Matchbox re-issues arent great either but I had to get a Victor! (that mould must be really tired by now)
The only thing good I got to say about Testors Kits is they have a few kits that on one wanted to produce like the U-2, O-2 OV-10 and yes I know that they are the old Hawks kits from way back when but when Hasegawa or Tamiya starts to produce those kits then I’ll change My mind about Testors Kits and anyways how on Earth will the next generation get the experiance on scratch building interiors without Testors, as for their paints Yes I like them But I’d preffer Floquil & Polly Scale for their selections and color ranges, as for the putty I don’t think so, I’d go with Squadrons or Gap Filling Super Glue over Testors filler and for the tools Gots to go with Squadrons too and Testors brushes Model Masters are their better BUT I’d go with another brands do to the expense of Testors but they are not to bad having 2 out of three hits
Am I the only one who remembers when Monogram and Revell (separate companies) were the only kits available to most of us growing up. I know I never heard of Tamiya or Hasegawa until I was approaching my twenties, now a millenia ago. Something like that anyway. Those kits for whatever their faults were where many of us learned what skills we may have today. Besides them Testors kits are fun for me sometimes as a break, a nostalgic trip away from all the perfect models available from other companies. And sometimes I get some pretty good results. I like Hasegawa and Tamiya as much as anyone but lets face it their expense would have kept me from being able to build them when I was starting out. There you are. Enough from another old geezer.
[#ditto] I remember Bob! [^] When I was a boy I loved to look through the Testors model catalogs! Funny thing is that those kits were nicely done…Hmmm…maybe you can build a nice kit from Testors.
