A wash & drybrush later . . .

all i can say is wow

It’s beautiful, Pixilater. And it’s a damned shame to have to close it up and lose that fantastic detail.[V][:(]
Paul

Thanks gunney & paulnchamp !

I may have to close it, but at least I’ll have the pics.

Speaking of pics, I added a little “human” touch to the sleeping compartment. Two things a REAL flyboy wouldn’t be without !

(sorry for the overexposed pic)

bill, i love the patience displayed in those interior areas. i love a good pit to work with and get great enjoyment out of pianting one. looks great. later.

Super work! I have one of these beasts sitting in my closet - you pics make me want to get in down and start working!

That is too freaking cool Pix LOL

awasome pix[8D][8D][8D]

Great job Pix! [:0]
That Betty Grable picture above the bunks was a nice touch . [tup]

Mike

Wow - looks great, Pix!!!
Did you ever think of taking it to Boeing and having THEM paint it? The Badger 150 will probably run scraming from your home (if such a thing were possible) at the thought of painting the B-29! For sure your compressor is going to cop a hiding!

Lookin’ very good Pixilater![tup] Great subject to choose, I know yours will be great when it’s finished.[;)]
I was considering getting the new B-29 release with the hamilton standard props as of late. I have a set of superscale decals for “the Great Artiste”. That particular aircraft had them. I already have one hanging from the basement ceiling, and it is the biggest plane I have. It is impressive when built. Can’t wait to see how yours turns out! Keep us posted[:D]

Thanks saltydog, sanderson_91, Jeeves, Nick, Mike, Lee Tree, & nicodemus !

saltydog - painting interiors is one of my favorite parts of building aircraft. I wish that some company would produce large-scale WW II cockpits as stand-alone models.

sanderson_91 - just make sure that you have plenty of room. Every time I handle the fuselage, I have nightmares about putting dings in the exterior surface. Not what I want to have happen to a model destined to wear a NMF. Good luck, should you decide to build this beauty.

Jeeves & Mike - at another website, someone suggested that reading materials might be appropriate in the sleeping quarters. I couldn’t resist ! [}:)]

Nick - glad you like it !

Lee Tree - The primer coats are going to be the killer on this kit. I’m thinking about priming the fuselage, wings, & stabilizers before I join them. After cleaning the seams, I can re-prime those areas. This will put less of a workload on my compressor & airbrush. The NMF, in different shades, will be applied in a panel-by-panel manner.

nicodemus - if you have the room and the decals, go for it. I haven’t heard of anyone that has more than one of these built & on display. The new props are the most crisply molded parts in this kit.

Thanks again, everyone !

Looking stunning.

I don’t know where the patience, or the space for that matter!!!

Karl

Thanks Karl !
I like slowing down & being careful when I paint the detail. Everything else in the world seems like it’s in too much of a hurry. It also helps that I’m unable to work. I can build whenever I want, even if it’s three o’clock in the morning (as long as I don’t run the compressor !). It can be frightening to move this beast around. I’m so concerned about damaging the fuselage exterior. Not what I want to do on a NMF aircraft.
Thanks again !

Great job on the paint work.I have an older release that I built several years ago. When the new one came out I bought 2.I plan to do one of them with all the cowlings removed getting an engine change or something like that.I’d like to get some aftermarket stuff for that one and go nuts.So far I’ve found wheels and engines and that’s about it.Come on Edwuard, how about a nice PE int and bomb bay set.
Can’t wait to see yours done, looks awesome so far.
