Just started using my new Ausfwerks FenderBender today–similar to the Etch-Mate, but with a hinge for a built-in folding system. It’s never been easier–great for larger parts, like tank fenders, but worked extremely well for extremely tiny Aber hasps on the front fenders of my Tiger I (the ones held down with the wingnuts). I’m very, very impressed. Definitely not cheap, even more pricey than the Etch-Mate, but if you don’t own either and are thinking about getting one, definitely consider the FenderBender. I think my Etch-Mate shall retire soon. Nice not to have to manipulate razor blades for bending. The company also has some other cool stuff, like a perfect resin block for photoetch cutting (reasonably priced), and a simple device for making wire handles that I think is easier to use than the Grab Handler.

Actually, the selling price for the FenderBender is “only” $82.50 US, not $110, with $4.75 for Shipping via PayPal to the US. I have no idea why they list the higher prices for everything as well on the website, and they do not explain–perhaps a retail price for when they start distributing to other retailers? Actually, on second thought, I think the higher price is in Canadian Dollars–the exchange rate looks about right. Pity they don’t make it clearer.
I used the Fender Bender to make my PE fenders for Dragon’s M4A3E8. It made making those long bends really easy! As for the Bendicator and the Block, I picked those up at AMPS. I gave away my Grab handler as the Bendicator is much easier.
