Just finished this OOB build of Hasegawa’s very nice Hurricane Mk IIc Trop. in 1/72 scale. The decals are from the kit and the camo is from Pollyscale’s range. The only addition was the radio wire from stainless steel. The flash washed out some of the weathering, especially on the white areas but you get the idea. The model was pre-shaded, post-shaded and dusted with pastels to acheive the weathered look. Decals were from the kit and worked well.
Hiya Joe,
For being teeny tiny scale, you did one hellofa job on the Hurri…!!! I like the over all appearance especially the weathering[;)].
From what I can see, it looks as though hasegawas 72nd line go together pretty well.
Thanks again.
Flaps up, Mike
Excellent build Joe. Like the Markings. The Volkes filter doesn’t add to the beauty of the Hurricane, but does give it some character. Thanks for sharing.
BTW, MPW just announced a Fokker DXXI with SKis. Gotta get me one.
Thanks guys! Yes Mike, it does go together well though the fit of the tropical filter is not good and needs a little extra work.
Rick, I did see that and am planning to get one as well even though I have already built the “wheeled” version in Finnish markings.
The underside looks excellent. So does the top for that matter ,but the underside REALLY looks good. Also, the FW in your side is a beaut. Is that 1/72 also? And it looks like a 190S. Is that correct? I’m still a little ignorant about aircraft.
