A thank you to the treadheads... (and a shameless plug)

Awesome tank destroyer!

I clicked the close-up to read the trophy, I couldn’t but the shadow tells all. Sounds like ‘Mosquitocon’ was another successful event. Interesting name for a hobby show and model contest, any history on why ‘Mosquitocon’? As in is that the name of a city or something, possibly the local IPMS chapter? Also how many models were entered?..I know more questions than answers.[^o)]

Again I have to say thank you. This time for all the very nice things you have said.[:$]

Anthony-yes it the same one that I posted the WIP back in Oct.

Rick- Hmmm… now if I had only done that when I was in school[whstl]

S/Fire-I cannot tell you the history of how my club got a mosquito as the mascot or logo or whatever you want to call it. But if you go to our website http://www.njipms.org/index.html you can see the mosquito with under wing stores ready for attack. That’s where tit comes from but that’s all i know.

Oops sorry s/fire. Preliminary numbers are 400+ walk-ins, 100+ entrants and 380+ models. Niot bad at all for Easter weekend.

Very Sweet Build ! Congrats!!

Yes great turnout, sometimes a long weekend is not the best date for a event like this. People usually place family before hobbies, well with the exclusion of us die-hards! ‘Mosquitocon’ must be in the northern states, possibly poking fun at shows like ‘Michigan Outdoors’ and the flying pest we all love to hate. Thanks for the reply wing_nut.[Y]

I have a small contest this weekend, its name is easy to understand as its named after the airfield and museum there. Lucky for me the theme is ‘We own the night’ and my main entry is a 1/144 scale Me 262 in night fighter configuration. Anyhow back to the table to work on a few bases for figures that will be entered.[H]

Congrats Marc. Well deserved.

That Jagdtiger looks great. I can see why it got first place.[:D[[:D[[:D[

WHOA now there’s a real winner[t$t]

SPGs Forever[Y]

Now you wouldn’t be biased toward that… would ya?[whstl][:P]

WHO? ME? Never[A]

Hey wing_nut! A well deserved award for a FANTASTIC Jagdtiger build (which I also seemed to have missed on the forum posts!)! I always look forward to your armor WIP posts and finished builds, you sure do great work!

Thanks bufflehead.

Excellent job, Marc! That’s a nice Jagdtiger! My favorite AFV!

Congratulations! --and here’s to many more! [t$t]

Thanks doog, appreciate it. Where are you these days??

Marc, I"ve been having a bug under my hood for some cars lately. I dunno why? I guess I just like the challenge of trying to get a good glossy shine–man, is it a learning process! I just finished these three models–

70 Road Runners:

…and a modified car–I stripped this NINE times and ruined one complete body before I finally got this cool finish.

I ain’t “gone” from Armor, just doing something more colorful. [:P] Like wbill says–I’m just “In the garage”, lol! I’ll be back here soon with a new WIP in time. I got some traveling to do too, coming up, so I’ll be overseas for a stretch…[:'(]

NINE TIMES??? Now that is persistence let me tell ya. But it paid off cuz those are sa-weet! And glad to hear it’s not a permanent departure.

Congrads on the win!

I for one would like to see more than just the one photo–Snappy

What this thread seriously lacks is a LINK to the W.I.P. so here’s the chance

Thanks INDY.

Here is the link.

EDIT. Not sure why it take you to page 10. Just one more thing the new forum does not do right.

congrats Marc, the build looked even better in the flesh!
