Hi all,
After a few years (and two kids), I am back into the hobby. What got be back into it was my 11 year old son wanted to get into model building. So for Christmas 2024, we got him two kits, a Revel F-14 and Revel F-18. Both are the “Top Gun 2” kits Both are 1/48 scale. I wanted to start him out slowly. He’s currently building a tank from my stash to learn some basic skills.
In any case, I have a Tamiya 1/48 F-14A and I thought it would be fun to build them together. Since I know that mine will take much longer, I got a head start and he will be starting his Tomcat next week. I decided to start a build log.
If you are interested, below is the last thread here on the site, from more than 10 years ago before my son was born. But that same boy is now building kits with me, so I thought it was cool to relive the old build. Warning, I never posted the completed pics, but it’s a fun read anyways.
