A sticky situation

The day before going on vacation I masked off the fuselage of a 737 I’m building and sprayed my Boeing grey on the wings.

I’d stayed up too late to do this, rushed a little and at the end of the day I didn’t remove the masking tape.

I got home after a week and when I removed the tape there is a hard glue residue on my gloss white. Does anybody have ideas on how I can remove this tape glue residue without damaging the paint? Oh the paint is Gunze acrylic.

Try taking the same tape you used to mask with, roll it sticky side out, and lightly dab the tape over the adhesive residue–much like removing lint from your clothes. If that doesn’t work, try some mild soap and warm water. Adhesive residue should remove easier off a gloss finish…
