Hello everyone, been quite awhile since my last post, one has to build something first in order to post something so here is one of a few,a Sherman crossing a creek in a winter setting. Sherman is from Tamiya with Verlinden stowage, bridge is a Synergy product called the “Footbridge”,I cut it in half and widened it with a road section.Roots are from the backyard and the snow is fine white tile grout.
Very impressive work, as usual. Interesting choice of medium for the snow. Surprisingly, it seemed to work well for you. Great work again, and thanks for posting.
Hi guys and thanks for the comments, the snow did work out well for the ground cover but I don`t reccomend it for very branchy trees where they move, the stuff is cracking off the limbs during movement. This was at the time seemed the most logical way to go as far as getting the winter effect in these kinds of trees, dunk in water and sprinkle with selfadhisive tile grout and mount, seemed like a good idea at the time, lol! Thanks again guys.
Russ, great scene, looks so cold! I still think you can use the white grout on the trees, next time, dunk the trees in water, sprinkle on your grout, but then afterward, spray on some Scenic Cement or spray on some white glue/water over top, and then add a little more grout, it should dry really hard, and shouldn’t crack or fall off?
Brrrr… Damn it feels cold. Still pushing them out like a pez dispenser…lol. Very nice work, Russ. I just have reservations on the color of the snow on the trees and surrounding ground. But the overall effect is great. I see that your figures are looking very good also. A human element always puts a very good dio over the top. Keep up the great work. I 'm working on my next one now.
