I just thought I’d share, since we hear too few positive stories about companies these days.

I bought a 1/48 Special Hobby Blackburn Skua off eBay a while back, and the kit, which was sealed, had a cracked canopy (cracked in half). The model is out of production, so I figured I was relegated to somehow piecing it together and vac-forming a new one, which I have never done and didn’t have high hopes for.

Even though it’s out of production, I decided to ask Special Hobby, and they not only responded to my email, they sent me an entire clear sprue from the Czech Republic to California for free. It arrived yesterday, and now I can build the kit.

I was really happy with the service, especially for something that you just can’t get anywhere else, and for which no aftermarket canopies exist.

I’ve gotten good service from them in the past as well! I have their 1/72 SB2U-2 kit and it came without the canopy at all. They sent it to me right away. I’ve also gotten great customer service from Revell, Eduard, and ICM.

At least they have that going for them. That ROC was torture. I hope you have success with their Skua kit.
