I’m 41, a fine but now obsolete caliber!
20 here
- Same old story - built 'em as a kid, got out of the hobby when I was about 12, got back into it about 2 years ago. Now I can afford to buy some really nice kits and do some really awesome builds [:D] (compared to when I was 12) . On the other hand, I don’t have the time I had back then to actually get more than 2 or 3 kits built in a year. Oh Well…[V].

47 and some change. Modeling was big along with slotcars and hot wheels. We didn’t have gameboy and the like. Most of us have just stuck with the hobby,it sort of grows on you. 20 years from now video games will probably be the thing for the over 40 crowd. One of the reasons that there is so many options and pricier things for modelers today we older modelers have more disposable income to spend on the hobby. Most kids today can’t afford to get a kit and flush it out with all the PE. aluminum barrel, resin modifications and acessories. I bought a panther, Aber PE set(the big one), and resin zim for $125. As a kid I saved for 3 weeks to get a Tamiya SU 100 for $10. I wonder how much the demographics of our hobby have changed.
45 and still a kid i don’t want to grow up toys or us kid.[8][banghead]
You all are still kids, 64, 07/20
37 last June…
In and out of the hobby since I was quite small…I’ve been into aircraft from the word go, and still do the occasional airplane build…spent a lot of time in my late teens/early 20’s on 1/24 and 1/25 cars, then got into armor in my early 30’s…just coming back after a 5-6 year absence and I’m loving every minute of it!
Turning 40 next month, same story, back into it for a year after 25 away.
Same boat as Tigerman, I still get ‘the look’ when picking up some Guinness. Even with the kids in tow.

Just got back in the hobby last year after about 10 years.
Same as others have said I have the money now to buy cool kits but less time to actually build them.
59 and feeling fine. Semper Fi, mike

Its hard to believe our hobby as it is today .Recently looked
through an assortment of “Scale Modeller” mags from

come true!!!

39 next month, sure doesn’t seem like I should be 39 already.
I have built off and on most of my life, can’t even remember my first kit.
Amazing how many in the 40s. Takes that long to learn to type?
I’m 74

41 last week. Happy 41st Birthday Rob Gronovius. You get a few years before 45 that actually just count as “around 40 or so”.
37 , started about 12 , found girls at 15 ,took 20 years off
40 two weeks ago and just got back into the hobby after a 20 year hiatus!
32 last November (Captian Caveman and I may be sharing a B-day)
Happy Birthday, Major Rob!

We don’t stop playing because we get old. We get old because we stop playing.
