Received a reply today to a suggestion that a specific category for airliners be added to the "Aircraft Forum " section. I thought this might be an interesting addition for us modelers to post info, pics and comments specifically devoted to airliner models. Pics, comments,and questions are far and few between on these models. Since their is a section for Helo.s and Sci Fi why not airliners. Apparently they felt it would be a nice addition so the idea is being forwarded to the Editorial Staff. Stay tuned. We,ll see what happens.

Personally, I think it’s a great idea…I love airliners - they have an incredible variety of liveries - some aircraft have been spotted in dozens (hundreds?) of schemes…I mean, how many airlines have operated the DC-3, for example? And in how many color schemes?
But I think the genre is a little too specific for this particular forum…I don’t think (pardon the pun) it’ll fly…merely for the fact that you’d have to then break down each subject into sub-categories…for example, ships, then carriers, destroyers, tugs, sub, PT’s, hydros…you can see how it could get cumbersome…too many sub categories.
Like I said, it’s a great idea…and I’d love to see more airliners.
