I have just joined your Modelling site as I had called Jay to tell him that the pilot of the aircraft he had built F/LT Harry Hardy DFC, CID was having dinner with me and wanted to know if he would like to talk to Harry. I was surfing the net and came across the model built by Jay, Harry was very impressed with the quality of the workmanship and we were able to contact Jay soHarry could thank him for the fine job done on the aircraft. I will be attending their summer barbeque on Wednesday but unfortunately there are only about 4 Typhoon pilots left on the west coast. We lost 7 in the last 2 years one of which was my Father who flew with RCAF 438 squadron and was based at Eindhoven with Harry and 440 squadron. Jay I am having Harry sign a picture for you so you can include it with your model. Also I will make arrangements to have him sign a copy of “Aces Warriors and Wingmen” If you like I will also have the author Wayne Ralph sign it along with Fred Burg 438 squadron and Bob Spooner DFC 438 squadron.
