Work has started on the 2nd P-51 so I can get caught up to the other and paint the Alclad on both at the same time. Should be ready for some paint soon… next few days I hope.
Mustang 1 with an Eduard PE detail set and the notches in the fuselage and flaps, so they fit when in the up position, have been filled since these will be down.
Mustang 2 with an Aries resin cockpit. From their Master series, molded in gray resin that is soft and carves like plastic. Doing these at the same time I can’t decide which I prefer… the colorful and beautifully pre-painted, but flat 2 dimensional, Eduard sets? Or the incredible 3D detail of the Aries resin sets that require painting?
Smokin’-The only reson the was even that big was so I had something to hold on to with my fat sausage fingers. The bulk was nipped off with large nail clippers then a mini rat tail file.
Outstanding work on both 'pits, but I have to give my vote to the Aires resin set as well, but just by a whisker! Both are beautiful presentations, and I’m looking forward to the next update pics! Thanks for sharing!
I quess "4D’ could be putting the 2 sets together picking the best parts of both… but oh baby would that be pricey[:O]
And my condolences to the family of the pilot of Mustang #2 since he will crash and burn on his 1st take off… no rudders pedal. OOPS kinda forget them[:I]
