You are the exception Sheila. I consider myself lucky because my fiance not only puts up with my hobby, she likes watching me build and she frequently buys me kits. But I cannot ever see her putting one together, just not her style.

I got my wife a model for her 40th birthday (Roden’s 1/48 Gloster Gladiator), but that was only one of her many presents. She did like it though. It’s the next one on her ‘to build’ list…!
My girlfriend wouldn’t buy me a model, mostly because she lives really far away (she= kansas, me= vancouver canada)…
its been almost a year, however.
My first duty station was Bitburg, Germany. I watched the first F-15 come in and the last F-4 leave. A few years later when I met my future wife she could keep her eyes off the pics of the 15s. She has always supported me in my hobby and one day she walded up to me and said I want an F-15. She did not want it in 1/72 scale, which I was heavy into at the time, it had to be 1/48 scale. The 15 is still her favorite and you can’t fool her with 18s or any of those Russian aircraft. She says," That’s not an F-15, it is not good looking enough!"
