A little photoshop with my PT495

Now, the real photo.

I’ve never done this before and the photo of the model needed to be from a slightly different angle but it was fun.

It’s like a ghost ship Ed. On eternal patrol and no crew to be seen. Great stuff.

Thanks Dave. Makes it real easy to tell it is fake.

Dave- Took me a couple of clicks before I could tell which one was the model! Nice job! [tup]

This one needs more work but I’m calling it a night. PT 552 had soft edge camo. 495 had hard edge so it is a little hard to balance.

Dave,

At leastt his one has a crew!

If you photograph the model outside you’ll get more even light.

The photos of my model were taken outside in sun and in overcast conditions. The goal was to try to match the original photos so I had to tone the photos down.

In this one I added the flag and crewmen along with adding more ocean above and below the boat to get a 5x7 ratio. I added some shadow to the side of the forward hull to match the shadows from my original model’s photo and played with the boat shadow on the water. What do you think?

This is the photo I started with:

Looks real to me! Nice idea, well done. Last 2 pix don’t show for me tho.

Here’s one I did … my hypothetical battleship kitbash refueling with an Iowa-Class ship …

There’s just enough activity at your rails in the bg to “sell” it - looks awesome. Well shot and placed. (and nice model!)
