I love airplanes, especially WWII planes. That’s why I like models. As you may have read in my previous posts, I’ve built a lot of models for my kid to play with, but am just now getting into building something to be proud of, color and all. [:D]
Just out of curiousity, since there are so many aircraft fans here, I was wondering if anyone here is also into computer flight sims. Personally, I love the IL-2 Sturmovik series. I have them all and really looking forward to the Pacific Fighters version coming this fall. My 4 1/2 year old son is one hell of a pilot on IL-2 Sturmovik… Simply amazing that he can get on a computer, start the game, pick a plane, turn on the engine, take off, shoot down bombers and even a few fighters. And not on the easy settings. Hope he still wants to be a pilot when he grows up.
Sorry for the off-topic.
i have Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 3 that i bought about a year ago and still enjoy playing it today. it has some of the more popular birds on it and a couple of jets as well. i’ve logged some serious hours on that game. later.
I have both CFS3 and IL-2 and enjoy both equally, though this year I don’t seem to have as much spare time to play either. It’s been about 3 months since I’ve been up.
I play Aceshigh. Its an online game and part of it (the head to head with can have upto 8 people in it)is free. Its awsome and the computer physics is the best I ve seen, having the ms cfs too. It just rocks and is awesome.

You need to try IL-2, Saltydog. They added many new planes since the original. In the Forgotten Battles and Aces expansion packs, you get many cool planes including the P-47, P-38, P-51, P-40, Spitfire, Hurricane, Stuka, Bf-110, He-111, A6M5, Ki-84, among others. It’s really cool. You gave me some advice on airbrushs, I have all the CFS series also. IL-2 blows CFS away. Give it a try when you can.
Oh, and you need to check out the pics of the new Pacific Fighters expansion coming in the fall. They are awesome. Go to http://www.il2sturmovik.com will be even more impressive. Can’t wait.
I like playing CFS2 and CFS1. The most fun part is downloading new aircraft and add-ons. You can get just about any planes you ever wanted to fly. I also just got European Air War off a mate and it looks quite good.
Ok ready for a sim thats a blast from the pre 2000 year past, My faveorit flight sims of all time are the World War Two Fighters, from Janes, and Janes Attack Squadron, both old, but both have thrills and chills that I just cant get in anyother game but Return To Castle Wolfenstien. Anyways, WW2 Fighters is a great game I feel 100% percent in control of my P-47D when im flyin. I logged soooomany kills in that thing, I lost count. Just thought Id put that out there.
See Ya
