A huge thank you

So in what seems like an eon I’ve finally finished my first ever scale model… Its far from perfect, it was more of a test run for different methods and mediums than anything else… And Do’s and don’ts… I’ve learnt a few do’s and a multitude of do not’s for the next time… However with that said I’m more than happy with how it has gone and the fun I had doing it and that’s mainly due to this forum… So i just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyones invaluable info that I have searched and to those who have answered my questions personally… So thank you guys for your time and effort in helping newbies like me got a foot on the scale modelling ladder…

I’ve posted a link to the finished model just incase anyone wants to cast a critical eye over it or just to have a quick look(couldn’t figure out how to post them directly on here sorry)…

Thanks again and happy modelling…

Never would have thought you were a noob, your bike looks real nice. My guess your gonna have a great career in modeling.

thank you very much for your kind and encouraging words…

Very well done! And I’m glad to see another bike builder here!

Outstanding! [Y][Y]

I’m pretty new also. Like you I’ve found the people on here amazing. Everyone has been so generous with sharing their knowledge and answering questions. It really help me navigate things I didn’t understand.

Never would have guessed that was your first. Well done.

Enjoy

lovely work , I’d be proud of it now , and I’ve been modeling for a few years .

Very nice build! [t$t] Can I borrow the keys to it for the weekend? [;)]

beautiful bike !! [Y]

Thank you all again for you’re kind words of encouragement … Well I’ve now ordered my second bike a suzuki gsx1100s katana (im not brave enough to try a full fairing bike yet) … So hopefully I can take what I learnt from building the last one and take my end results one step further… Will still be a bit of trail and error as I’ve just bought some vallejo metal colours so will be trying them for the chrome and aluminium parts…

You’re kidding right? That’s your first ever model? WOW, I only wish my models turned out like that after over 50 years of building.

thank you I appreciate the comment… Comments such as the ones I’ve received on here inspire me to keep going :)… yes it was my first attempt at scale modelling I did however spend months trolling through forums and watching video tutorials etc… Not everything went according to plan during the building I must admit… There was a lot of parts and sub assemblies that I had to strip back to plastic and or try to get apart and start again with…took me around 6 weeks at an hour or so a day in all… Not sure if that’s excessive time or not! but it seemed like an eon lol

It’s only excessive if you think it is. I’ve known builders to take several years building a kit to make it look like they want.

Foxy,

You did an excellent job, never would have guessed it was your first.

That’s excellent! I’m not really one for bikes, but I’d be proud to have that one on display - well done!

Hutch.

This is AWSOME. Well done [Y]

That very good in my book. Like the colors. !!

thank you… It was a gamble… The kit asked for tamiya ts 17(aluminium silver) for the tank and panels… but I only use vallejo paints so opted for metallic steel… And was quite happy with the results

Hello Foxy!

Well? What do you want? This bike is the Cat’s Meow. That’s for sure. Your emerging talent is showing! Ah! that’s what you wanted, to give me the keys?

thank you again appreciated  and I believe there’s a queue for the keys I’ll have to do it on a rotation…
