I took some planes down today for some dusting, and figured Id snap a group shot of my 1/48 P-40’s. They have been built over a course of several years, so the quality varies greatly!
The P-40B/C w/ the blue stripe was autographed by AVG Pilots Peter Wright and Charlie Mott on the wings.
5 of them are R/M P-40B’s. 1 is the R/M Pro-modeler P-40E, 1 Otaki P-40E. 1 Hobbycraft P-40B. 2 K-line (NewRay) P-40 E’s repainted.
My latest P-40B is still waiting for a set of FCM decals.

I have two more R/M P-40B’s in the stash. Id like to build one as the XP-40. I also have 3/4’s of an R/M P-40B kit and a bunch of P-36 parts, Id like to do an AVG diorama of a P-40 getting a motor swap. I already trimmed the cowl off of one and started adding the engine from the Otaki/Arii Kit and detailing the firewall.
My latest P-40B (Top right) was originally going to be an XP-40, but due to a lack of reference pictures I built it as a pre-war, factory fresh P-40B.
I have two 1/48 P-36’s built too.
Ive always thought it would be fun to build all 100 (99) AVG aircraft 
I will keep on building whenever I see one that cathces my eye.
There are only ten there. I think you need to build two more for an even dozen.

Here is a pic of my latest. This is fresh out of the paint booth. I have since painted the canopy, and finished adding the little items. I trimmed up the canopy to fit a little better. The kit is OOB. I drilled out the exhaust manifolds.
I havent finished decaling it yet. I want to get a set of FCM decals and finish it with some pre-war “tail feathers”.
And some of the P-40’s in their natural environment, hehe. The nose of the Otaki P-40 E will be getting som attention soon.

Jeeeeez, what’s with all the propellers in the ceiling shot? Where are the stove pipes? Your P-40s look great. The AVG rides again.

Ok…Here are some pics of the nicer models :-).
First one is my latest R/M P-40B. I was going for a factory fresh pre-war aircraft. I am still trying to get a set of FCM decals for it. So it is still naked.
Second one is another Revell/Monogram kit from about 5 or 6 years ago. That is why it is missing some parts (gun sights).
Third one is the Hobby Craft kit. Also from 5 or 6 years ago. That is why the stripe on the tail is missing a piece, hehe.
