A Few Models from my shelf

I had the camera at home so I thought I would take a few pics of some of the models I have on my shelf (finished, not wingy-thingies and not partially destroyed by the children)

Wow! those look great!! The sherman is perfect!![:p]

Thanks. The Sherman was my first (and to date only) attempt at replicating a whitewash paint job.

Hmmm…can’t seem to get to the big pix this time, but the little pix look great!

I have to include the link to my hosting site because fotopic only allows me to post thumbnails. Probably should get another hosting site, but I fear change

Those models look great. How did you do that great winter whitewash camouflage? I can
never get it to look that good.

Nice models Jason. I hope you don’t put the Sherm and Tiger too close to one another on the shelves [:o)]

Nice work Jason. Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Rick

Nice stuff, Jason. Look terrific. You aren’t a died in the wool Tamiya fan or something are you?? (Of course, we all know you’ve strayed the path with the DML Tiger!!)

Glad you got a camera to get some posts up. Let’s see somemore!

Have a good one.

Erik- I painted the tank OD green and weathered it, then I masked off the decals and misted it with white and then sprayed a few irregular patches of model master “camoflauge grey” which looks like a dirty white. On the verticle surfaces I used the airbrush in an up and down motion to try to get the look that it was washing off and down the hull/turret sides. After all that, I sprayed Tamiya smoke on the lower portions to replicate slushy water spraying up on it.

I-beam- funny you should say that- my 3 year old watched “Sherman vs. Tiger” on the Military Channel with me a few weeks back and now makes me keep them together on the shelf where she can see them.

Thanks for the tips. I may get brave enough and try it again.

Really wasn’t too hard. Just spray light layers so the base color shows through and keep it irregular.

looks good jason … l that sherman is great!

Nice work Jason

Steve

Nice to see these come down from the shelf for viewing Jason! [tup]

Thanks. Better they come down for viewing than because my kid wants her My Pretty Pony to ride them (it happened. We had a talk and she claims her ponies don’t like my tanks anymore. I don’t know- I can’t trust miniature plastic horses.)

Hey JWest21,
Nice looking kits. I tend to lean towards Shermans and that one is a beaut.
Thanks,
Joe

Joe- Greatmodels says they are getting the re-issue of the Dragon Sherman Early in today. Supposed to be a great kit!

Well by golly that is some very nice work Jason! I thought you just collected kits? Boy was I wrong. Show us more, they’re beautiful. Semper Fi, mike

Jason,
You should be especially proud of that Sherman. I’ve always though that a subtle Winter scheme vs a total white-out scheme looks a lot more realistic becuase of the wear and tear those tanks must have gone through. I think you have nailed it perfectly. I’m thinking of a Winter scheme for my British Cromwell but have never done one yet and am a little hesistant. Seeing your Sherman may change my mind.
