A few generic questions

Hi gang-

Just a few questions I wanted to lump into one post so as not to clutter up this fine forum.

Anyone make a 1/32 scale (or thereabouts) WWI British “Mother” tank? After seeing League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, I want to build one.

I know Tamiya kicks much butt, and has since their inception, but are there any model makers out there that are better than them?

Eons ago, Testors and an Italian firm (Italieari [sp?]) teamed up to make some armour. I recall that seperately, the firm’s kits weren’t that good, but together they made some fantastic kits, what ever happened to that joint effort?

I saw the other day an engine kit from Tamiya that came with a german tank crew. The kit was for (I think) the Panther, could I use it for a Jadgpanther as well and still be historically correct, or is there an engine kit specifically for the Jadgpanther?

Thanks for any and all help!

Tamiya is the best in a combination of things. For the price the quality is very good. The thing I like about Tamiya is their instructions, They are very well written and illustrated, and have a description of every part. the spelling is Italeri, but I can’t tell you much about that question.

I know of no Mother in 1/32 or 1/35 scale

All the model manufacturers have their good days and bad days … even Tamiya, though they do seem to have less bad days than others.
Trumpeter, DML, and Italeri all have some fairly decent kits on the market.

If I recall correctly (and sometimes that’s a long shot) Testor’s just repackaged many of Italeri’s kit and distributed them. As well as having a few of their own.

I believe you can use the engine kit for the Jagdpanther, some of the German armour builders can probably shed a little more light on this subject though.

Hope this helps.
