Here are three figures I’ve just completed for the 1/35 MEDEVAC dio I’ve been working on.
All three are slightly modified Verlinden figures.
I do not consider myself a figure painter, but I feel my skills suffice for my dio purposes at this time.
The first one is a medic from the M997 Humvee Ambulance.
This guy is a soldier from the unit assisting the medic.
He is holding an IV bag.
Here are the two of them attending a wounded soldier on a stretcher.
He will soon be loaded unto the Black Hawk.
This is another figure that is not going to be in the same dio, but I thought I’d include him in this thread since I just finished him too.
He is a USMC helicopter pilot.
The basic figure is from Azimut Productions.
The head is from Hornet, and I scratched the helmet.
I tried to make a helmet that is currently used by USMC and USN flight crews.
Joseph from Fireball Modelworks was kind enough to cast several resin copies of the helmet for me.
I made the figure to go with my yet unfinished 1/35 AH-1W.
He can also be used with my Panda UH-1N.
I hope to improve my skills and learn more about figure painting as time goes by.
why no one has responded to this yet is beyond me pete!!! you may not be a figure painter in your mind but i think between all of it you did one hell of a job!!! very good indeed!!! bravo!!! [#toast][:D]
Paul, the ambulance is the 1/35 Academy kit #1352 Maxi-Ambulance
It is currently out of production, but can be easily found in some hobby shops and on ebay.
The bulged resin tires are from Trakz.
The kit tires looked too small to me. I used the kit wheels in the resin tires.
There are quite a number of aftermarket wheel/ tire sets for Humvee vehicles that can be used.
Thanks to everyone for the encouraging comments.
I’m still working on the dio.
