A drive from the rough, but interesting anyway.

Hello all.

I was in the model railroading shop next to my LHS and picked up my first automotive related kit in years.

They had a series of limited run Czech produced kits of various vehicles in 1/87 (HO) scale. I walked out with a Tatra T 318 8x8 airport fire truck.

Opening the box, I saw injection molded plastic. Nice considering I was expecting resin all the way.

Its definitely going to take work but I think I’ve got a diamond in the rough here. Lots more detail than I might have expected on a kit in this scale.

Unusual scale, but where the heck else am I likely to find such an unusual subject?[:)]

Sounds like an interesting build for sure. look forward for some pics of it.

An interesting choice. There are some nice subjects in that scale for the train boys. A few years ago I picked up a Cat bulldozer and Hyster logging arch from around the 1950’s and a Mack cabover with a local (New Zealand) logging trailer. The detail is very good and they don’t look difficult to build.
