A challenge Kit

Hi Guys and Gals.

Started cleanup on a 1/6 Morrigan kit. In the pics you can see some of the problem areas on 2 of the 4 wings, most don’t show up on the pics.
(Sorry, for the poor quality, haven’t had time to iron the cloth or do a proper setup)

Rest of the kit is in a similar state with a 2mm gap between one arm-shoulder joint (being the worst), plus the attachment points for both main wings need to be reworked totally. Plenty of sanding, puttying, sculpting and smoothing out to do, reckon 4~6 months on cleanup alone. [B)]

Pose is as follows, she is siting cross-legged with one arm drapped across her knees. Going to be fun painting her prior to assembly.

Oooh, you don’t know what the char looks like you say?? See below:

This should give you an idea, the bats are not marked on the kit and will need to be stenciled in.

FYI, this is NOT a recast but the first kit the sculptor/caster released about 8yrs ago. Pretty much standard quality for a home-produced garage-kit.

Should be a lot of fun. Keep us posted on progress.

Regards, Rick

Yeah, nothing really too difficult to fix there, mostly excess resin, some filling and resculpting a few details(wing tips, hair, etc)
Luckily the parts split of the kit is well done, especially on the legs so assembly should be fairly straightforward.

I will keep you guys posted, have to go and pick up some mini grinder heads for router next.

Zen.

Hey Peter, are you still using Wave’s Handy Router Mk.1? That thing’s great!
What kind of mini grinder heads will you be using?
