Back in 2005/06 I was a member of a group build on another web site, it was labled the “Heavies Group Build” and it was anything with four engines, so just to be different, I chose the old Hasegawa Shin Maewa flying boat.
I spent a little over a year in Iwakuni Japan between 01 and 02 and got to see these big momma’s flying almost daily and since there was one on display on the Japanese side of the base that I had pictures of, it was for me a no brainer.
The intervening years havent been kind to the model though, she took a tumble off a display stand and lost her MLG and three og the four props were destroyed, but here she is freshly finished in 2006.
