A-6E Eduards Photo Etch Avionics Placards?

I recently purchased the Eduards PE Set 48172.for my A-6 E build. Using a reference photo of a build on the Promodeler website (See Below) I noticed that the ‘boxes’ have placards affixed to them.

These are not with the Eduard set and Eduard.com has not replied one way or the other as to if these were or should be included.

Does anyone know if these should be with the Eduard PE set or where I may find a set of decals to use on these boxes?

As for the response comment from Eduard…I am at the point with a lot of these AM market companies and some websites that sell these products with their “LACK OF RESPONSE” to the customer. This is not the first time I have had missing parts, bad parts, lack of instructional information etc.

I feel that the amount of $$$ we spend on our hobby they need / must do a BETTER job in replying to our questions and resolving quality control errors.

Otherwise I am going back to OOB builds only.

Most of Eduards’ PE sets lack placards. They do sell a universal placard set, if I recall. It’s sort of like their WWII American/German/English seatbelt sets. They use “close enoughs” (i.e. not actually plane specific) designs, so you can at least have something there.

The universal set is probably what Promodeler builder used.

To answer one question, no, the Eduard set does not include placards.

The gear carried on the birdcage racks varied over the operational life of the Intruder, going from vaccuum tube to solid-state electronics.

I’d suggest checking out some actual photos and not drawing any conclusions on the model photos. I think you’ll find that the colors and placards on the real thing are a bit more subtle and subdued.

I can usually dip into my box of spare decals to find stencil decals that are the right size and configuration for stuff like this.

Go to squadron.com and put “placards” in the quick search box and you’ll get about 2 pages worth. Go to spruebrothers and you’ll get about 4 pages worth.

Most sets seem to be plane specific, but since you can’t read what most of them say anyway, just get a cheap set that you think would look good. Who is really going to tell you that you’re wrong - besides the rivet counters here?
