Hello friends! At the model contest yesterday, I scored another A-36A kit. As this kit only comes with one decal option, I thought it it would be a good idea to get some extra decals for it. So I purchased Aeromaster’s Yellow Numbers set and Superscale’s Operation Torch insignia set. The only problem is, I can’t find any information stating that the A-36 ever operated in Operation Torch! Oops. So I guess I’m looking for anyone to prove I’m wrong, because an A-36 with yellow insignia surrounds would look so cool!
Dunno about Opertation Torch specifically, but plenty of 'em were in Tunisia in mid '43 with the yellow surrounds…
According to the Wikpedia article on the A-36, they did not arrive in North Africa until March and April of 1943.
Yeah that was my first source, stik. That’s why I was a little bummed, but I got that decal sheet for a dollar so I can’t complain!
Hans, good to know there were some birds with the yeller surrounds… Now to track some photos down of planes so I can be at least a little accurate!
