A-1H Skyraider napalm tanks

Did all of the napalm tanks that they put on Skyraiders have the red bands painted around the front and back?
I am trying to figure out how to stripe them if necessary.
The only good picture I have been able to find was this one:

Thanks

Mike

the pic isnt showing

There we go. I say if your reference shows em do em :). use a lathe

Someone in another thread, recommended using Tamiya colored tape for the yellow stripes on iron bombs.
They make that tape in red also. I have seen it at Hobbytown and each pack comes with 4 or 5 different widths.
Just a thought.
If not that then try an Egg-o-rator. It might be hard to find this time of year though. It is a lathe like device used to decorate Easter eggs. Your tanks would be held in place by the rubber end pieces and the brush would go in a holder to the side. Then you just turn the little handle while slowly easing the brush closer to the part and VOILA!!! Stripes on your napalm tanks!!!
I also have seen pics where the napalm didn’t have stripes at all. In fact, the bottom of the tanks were painted black to match the black undersides of the A-26K Counter Invader that was used on night time interdiction strikes.

Where can I possibly find one of those Egg-o-rators? It sounds like something we ALL should have on our modeling benches!!!

No kidding, I’ve never heard of an egg o rater, but I want one in a bad way.

I know what they are but I haven’t seen one in stores in years.
I found this one with a Google search for “Egg lathe” but it is about $24 and is not quite the same as the one you are talking about.

I put items in my 19.2v Craftsman drill and turn it slowly and it works well.
The drill is heavy enough that laying on it’s side produces a stable platform.

The main difference, as far as I can tell, is that there is an arm that mounts on the side to either clamp or rest a brush on.
