A-12 Avenger II Naval Stealth aircraft

I was wondering, I have always liked this aircraft, and have recently seen some models of it. I don’t know which one I’ll take though… The 1/72nd scale model from Anigrand http://www.anigrand.com/AA2009a-12.html
Or the 1/48th scale model from Collect-Aire http://www.collectaire.com/modelpages/a12a/a12a.html

Obviously the Anigrand model has my preference because of its lower price (about $48 dollars versus the $189.95 dollars for the Collect-Aire models). The smaller model might also be good to practice on. I might even get two of them so that I can screw one up, and do the other one right.
I was wondering if anyone else here has built either of these models and could tell me something more about it. And even show it if you have pictures!!

BTW, do you know what would be really cool, to have a couple of these in 1/700th scale. They would look fabulous on JAG Collective’s Stealth Aircraft Carrier!!![8D][8D]

I only build 1/72 myself, so for me the choise is simple. But the hinged wings on that 1/48 looks very, very cool, so I would take that into concideration.

Here´s a reviev that FSM did on the 1/72

I got to get my hands on that…

Good luck with your choise/Johan

Either scale, that would be a unique addition to any collection. The price would lead me toward the 1/72 one…but I don’t really build in that scale, so I guess I’d hope a less expensive version would be released someday. Still, that 1/48 has some interesting details…

I recently scratchbuilt a 1/72nd scale version of the A-12 using the information provided on the web page. It cost me about $5 for the plastic and about 3 months of off and on time. You can get the web page by just listing the Avenger A-12 and get several articles on the A/C. If anyone is interested in a finished product picture write me on E-mail at mats.man@cox.net

why don’t you post some pic’s and tell us how you build it.
I would be very interested how you scratchbuilded it, and i’m sure that I am not the only one!
