this is my first attempt at airbrushing. For over a year i had to paint everything by hand.

Quick question - what is your plan for the 'pit. There seems to be a lot of detail in there that screams out for some color.
I will paint that now. I cant believe I forgot![00ps]
Not a bad effort. Pics are a little blurry, but it looks like you may have missed some seams on the fuselage.

The kid is off to a great start, but if he is going to walk around with a screen name like that, he had better be prepared for a fair amount of ‘stuff’ to be thrown in his direction. Ahh, I wouldn’t worry too much. This looks like it’ll be a good build to practice a lot with your new airbrush and work on some other techniques. Keep up the work, I’ll look forward to seeing your progress.

That’s an interesting camo pattern. Did you see that in a publication somewhere? One thing you could do is start with the base color (for example, grey) then, using a soft pencil, lightly draw in the camoflage pattern of the other colors. Then using the pencil demarcations as your guide, you can airbrush in the other colors.
You’re off to a good start! I don’t think I used my first airbrush until I was 20 or 21. The more you use it, the better you’ll get. But just to let you in on a little secret: Each time you airbrush, you’re learning new things. Sometimes things work and sometimes they don’t. You’re always evolving and it’s not an exact science. You’ll find the techniques that will work best for you. Most of all, have fun and don’t get frustrated! [:D]

I-A-T-G, I’m not sure what you have in mind for this build (for example, are you modeling a particular bird, or just ‘making it up as you go along’?) but you are off to a good start and, as I said before, this is a good opportunity to mess around with your new airbrush and begin to develop those skills.
Post some more pics and, if you’ve got questions, let the folks here try to help you out. We are, after all, just one big, happy (though often disfunctional) family…[;)]

Nice A-10. If you stick with us, you will find that your modelling skills will improve 10 fold.
Good start for sure. A little seam work here and there and some paint in the cockpit and it’ll improve the look of it very quickly! But I know, at 12, I didn’t care much for sanding seams and in depth paint work…then again, I still don’t care for sanding seams [:D]
He never said he was “the greatest” at modeling…maybe he is the greatest at something other than modeling, no? Like bowling, or arithmetic, or water colors, or picking exaggerated screen names.
Ive only started about 5 models (only finished one) and all of them are completely custom. I enjoy doing it like this because it has a little bit of breathing room for your own personal touch. The b-25 that i am building will only have 1-tone paint. It is the “Finito Benito, Next Hiorito”. Stationed in Italy. It never saw action and I think it was destroyed in the (1944?) eruption of mt. Vesuvius.

I think it is a great start…just looking at your paint job it looks like you did a good job, paint looks pretty even and not too heavy handed. You got good coverage with paint without covering up details which is very easy to do.
Keep reading and learning on here and you will be in “great” shape. Heck I wish I had this resource when I started doing models way too many years ago to count and well before Al Gore invented the internet.
For all of you that wince at his screen name (I did too when I first saw it) he got it from hearing “someone” say it on T.V. when he was creating his account. ( My guess is that it was Ali).
My point is not everyone has enough miles under thier feet to understand what is kidding and what is not just keep on smilling and building.
When it comes to young builders like yourself, as I said before, to paraphrase Star Wars. …“you are our only hope”
I have to agree with the others - definitely a great start. I wish I still had some of my earliest airbrush builds as a point of reference, but let’s just say it took me a few years to realize I had to actually thin the paint…
Definitely take advantage of this forum and all the great resources the interwebs have to offer - I only came back to modeling about six months ago, and just discovering new techniques and new ways of thinking about things has elevated my game far above where I ever was growing up.
