You lucky swine Steve. Though a member of the model club I am in made a comment the other day that I have to agree with, and that’s that they just don’t look the same in grey.
To Bish,
No PE on this build, it’ll be a OOB build. I’m already being challenged by the assembly of a modern fighter jet, I don’t want to mess it up any further with after market items. LOL! Thank you for visiting my threads, I most appreciated.

To Gamera,
Isn’t that just crazy yet awesome! I read that the entire aircraft was built around the cannon (Gattling) gun. I’d love to see a photo of that! Thanks for the read and reply.
Toshi
To Tankerbuilder,
LOL! That is crazy! I’m sure you must be so proud of your daughter to pilot one of these very inspiring yet dangerous weapon. Tell her I said thank you for her service, she risk her own life to ensure our safety here in the USA. Thank you for the read and reply and also sharing that very cool comment in regards to your daughter.

To modelcrazy,
Wow, thank you for the live shots of the A-10. That must be so cool to see them up this close, thank you for sharing these wonderful photos with me as well as to FSM forum members. Thank you for the read and reply. I’ll do my best on this build, I hope I can at least meet members expectations on the A-10 assembly.

Here is a update on the A-10 build. As a forum member noted on this thread, this will test my skill in sanding and adding putty for the “Thunderbolt II”. I must agree so, I spent all afternoon sanding the entire aircraft and as I add and glue more parts to the A-10, I see much more needed attention to detailed sanding as needed. Luckily, I’ve only used, so far putty for the tail section.
Here is the 3oz. weight needed to keep the A-10 parallel to the ground.
The only putty needed thus far.
With all this sanding, I’ve lost a lot of detail, I guess this is a give and take situation.
Yea I remember the fit of that engine, I got lazy and did not address it. Anyhow good progress so far!
I see you got the gun in already. That for me took a lot of head scratching “how does this thing go in there???”
To UlteriorModem,
Yes, it did take a few dry fits and a little web page shots, including your photos with your A-10 build, of which is so helpful, before I figured out the installation of the front landing gear and cannon. Thank you for touching base with me on this build.

Toshi,
Your A-10 is shaping up really well. Back in 1991 at an airshow in Houston,an A-10 put on a very cool performance They built a mock tank out of wood that the A-10 blew up. The fake tank was blown up with explosives since the A-10 obviously could not use its gun. Still,it was pretty impressive!
To roger_wilco,
That sounds so cool! I bet it was a great show. I didn’t realize the A-10 had that much fire power and could take severe damage and yet manage to fly back to base. Amazing.

To my fellow forum members,
I try to slow down but as I work on each step, in my minds eye, I can see the following assembly, it brings me that much closer to seeing the “Warthog” in full view. I guess I’m like a little child, ask Mrs. Toshi, she’ll say I am one. LOL!
I must admit that with each addition of a part, seams and gaps were constantly an issue. I was fore warned by a forum member. Thank goodness for alligator clips, clamps, sanding material, and Tamiya extra thin cement! In the end, I showered three times yesterday just to get the plastic dust off of me. LOL! Amazingly, I used very little putty. I only needed to putty the two gaps of where the twin engine connects to the fuselage.
I know I sound ignorant here but, building WWII aircraft exclusively has had an effect on my mind of what a build supposed to look like. So with this build of the A-10, I’m amazed at the fine lines, the strategic weapons load, and overall beauty not to mention the giant cannon it carries on it’s nose. On this build, it was a new experience as I was still in the mind set of a propeller driven craft. Plus my inventory of paint consisted on schemes of WWII aircraft. I’ll definately need to make some purchases in regards to the body color of the Thunderbolt II. I lack the different hues of gray.
Other than that, I’m really enjoying building, for a change a modern day jet. Maybe at some point, I’ll tackle something like a F-4 Phantom. I did see a F-4 at Hobby Lobby but it was in a much larger scale. The box it was packaged in was the same size as a Revell/Monogram B-17. Wow!
Man you are throwing kits together like a man possessed. keep up the good work, I like watching these come together.
Thanks BrandonK, I enjoy putting these kits together. Thank you for the read and reply.

All in a span of two days. Man…lightening quick! You really need to get in on one of stikpusher’s Weekend Madness Group Builds. Lookin’ good so far buddy!
If I may add BrandonK, when I start throwing up green pea soup and my head does a 360, then I’ll consider the extent of my possession. LOL! Until then, enjoy your weekend. Here in Streetsboro, Ohio, we’ve got stay at home, watch a movie weekend, or in my case, stay at home and build, build, and more build. LOL! There is nothing but heavy rain going on outside. This will delay any AB prime at this time.

Holy cow Toshi, I leave the forum for 24 hours and your nearly done with it?
Your using some kind of secret glue! [:D]
Anyhow looks good so far.
To ulteriormodem,
LOL! No special glue is utilized, I only use the old school Testors glue in the tooth paste type tube for big assemblies, I also use the Testors black triangular looking glue with this long application neck. Finally, I’ll use the Tamiya Extra Thin Cement for small detailed items and glueing together a fuselage. I guess it’s just the correct product for the specific job at hand, forum members, please do not get upset at my comment. I’m simply stating my own non-experience humble opinion.
As for completion, I think not. There is still a huge amount of munitions needed to be primed, painted and assembled. I have never ever done this before. It looks extremely overwhelming to me, not to mention the great challenge and difficulty in assembling all these weapons.
Is there any special tips that you or other forum members have in assembling all of these rockets and bombs? Thank you in advance!
Toshi
I feel your pain. It is supposed to be 105 here today and my garage, aka -paint booth, is about 92 so far. That is just too hot to paint, so I’ll have to wait till morning to get anything done in that regard. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.
Toshi, I think this is your best build so far! Great job on that Warthog!! I have seen nothing but improvement on every kit that you build. My hat’s off to you, buddy!! Keep it up!
