…Built for Monogram Mafia GB. Nice little kit…fit was great, hardly needed any filler.
Scratch built the wheel wells…kit was an open void…brass tubing for wing guns and 34 gauge wire for the antennae. All comments are welcome…thanks for looking.

The topside camo is freehand but the line between the top and underside was masked . It`s 1:48 scale.

Nice build Len. I haven’t built a Monogram kit in over 30 years, but I remember for the most part that the fit was usually quite good.

Hurricane looks great. I love these old Monogram kits, usually pretty accurate in shape w/ plenty of room for scratchbuilding or aftermarket details. I’ve built several that have won over the newer kits from Accurate, Hasegawa & Tamaya at shows (I’m especially proud of my F-6C built from the old reliable P-51B kit w/ scratchbuilt corrections & detailing added).
Thanks JB and Tigerman…I love these old kits too. As a matter of fact, since Im done both required kits to be a "made man"...before the sign up date has even arrived...Im gonna do a few more and buid up my status in “La Familia”…lol
JB- I hear ya about the “room for improvement” on these old kits. Im just getting my feet wet with scratchbuilding and Im really liking it. My skills on the other hand, are lacking a bit but, just like I said to Reasoned in another post…practice makes perfect!

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t British planes use rubber masks when painting their camo schemes? These mats would result in a hard line between the colors. I thought I read that somewhere.

Yeah, they did use masks… The rubber was fairly thick though, about a 1/4-3/8th-inch, so it technically resulted in a feather-edge at the factory, but you gotta be pretty close to actually see it… Scaled down, it should be a hard line between the colors, but even so, the "soft"edge looks good…
Overall, an outstanding build, Troublemaker… Might wanna squirt some more clear flat on the underside though…[;)]
BTW… The rest of you mugs still got untill Midnight (Central Time), 31 March to enter the GB…
