!/72 Gato Diorama

I am building the Revell 1/72 Gato Submarine and have decided to build a diorama featuring the submarine at the Submarine Base at Pearl Harbor. I need to how big the diorama base needs to be?

I am assuming you are haveing the Boat tied up at dockside. It all depends on what your scene is protraying really. I would think the main issue is how much of the dock side you want to show.

I was thinking of showing the Warehouse 2000lb crane and a guard house and the torpedos being loaded on to the Sub and

wow, that sounds big. I am guessing the warehouse would be seperated from the wharf by a road and the crane is on the wharf side. It really depends on the size of the warehouse. Assuming the dio is going straight across the front, often considered a no no in Dio’s, but i find it works sometimes, then i would put the sub at the front edge of the scene and the warehouse at the back up to the edge.

Not sure if that helps.

Size? Think “Dining Room.”[;)]
