Nice looking build. The paint looks flawless.A neighbor of ours had one like this when I was a kid.She drove the crap out that old bug and never had a bit of problems.
Not sure that would be a factory color.
Factory color or not, that is what she had; British Racing Green with a lite tan interior.
Not trying to argue, just making a comment.
That is cool, I’m pretty sure that was the it came. She bought it used, but ALL the exposed metal was BRG. I found the colors in a Hobby Town 500 miles from home, but I have them. Good.
Here is one in the color you are speaking of.e http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?type=sample&paint=11552&ditzler=44078&syear=1968&smanuf=Volkswagen&smodel=Beetle&sname=Delta Green&name=beetle196844078&scomm=
Is it me or is that link weird?
It works for me. You can do a bing image search, 1968 VW bug in delta green.
Tried it on the phone, and the nook, both attempts at the link brought me back to this thread.
Tried it on the PC and it works. Yup, that’s the bug. Thanks, Lee.
I found the paint at Hobby Town in Chattanooga. It’s Acrylic Lacquer. I’ve never used this stuff before. I might have to buy some in another color and a throwaway model to see what it’s like to work with. I really want this model for her to look good.
Here is a teachable moment. If I recall correctly “British Racing Green” is a Jaguar color, but I am no expert on British auto colors. So, does anyone know the origin of “British Racing Green”?
It used to be the color of MG’s…
